It also allows for a 12-hour grace period, so you can replace your sensor when it’s most convenient for you. The Dexcom G7 is smart device compatible and sends readings every 5 minutes to your favorite display device, including iPhones, Androids, your smartwatch, or the Dexcom receiver. Advanced alerts make it easy to detect urgent highs or lows to make it easier for you to stay in range and on track.
Plus, the Dexcom G7 CGM makes it easier than ever to share your numbers with loved ones and your provider. The Dexcom Clarity App gives your doctor access to glucose reports, while friends or family members can stay up to date on your numbers with the Follow App.

Like other CGM systems, people with diabetes can use the Dexcom G7® CGM System to enhance their glucose testing regimen. While this system cannot fully replace finger prick testing, it can greatly reduce patients’ reliance on this testing method.
Like other CGM systems, the Dexcom G7® CGM System allows people with diabetes to easily view their glucose levels. While using this system, you’ll receive updates on your glucose every five minutes without having to deal with finger prick tests.*

How often must the Dexcom G7 Sensor be replaced?
The Dexcom G7®sensor has a lifespan of 10 days. However, unlike previous Dexcom sensors, the G7 has a 12-hour grace period to give wearers plenty of time to switch out their sensors.
Can the Dexcom G7 sensor be worn on the abdomen?
Yes, adults who are not pregnant can wear the Dexcom G7 sensor on the abdomen or belly.
How much does the Dexcom G7 cost?
The amount you can expect to pay for the Dexcom G7® CGM System will vary depending on your personal insurance coverage. Despite this, Dexcom intends for insurance coverage for its newest system to be equal to that offered for the Dexcom G6.
Does the Dexcom G7 have a transmitter?
No transmitter is needed with the Dexcom G7.
How accurate is the Dexcom G7?
Currently, the Dexcom G7® CGM System is more accurate than any other CGM product available for purchase in the United States. Among adults wearing sensors on the upper arm, this CGM system’s MARD (or mean absolute relative difference) is 8.2 percent—a significant improvement over the Dexcom G6®’s MARD of 9 percent.

Are Dexcom G7 sensors waterproof?
Dexcom has stated that the Dexcom G7® CGM System sensor is waterproof to a depth of 2.4 meters. That said, the receiver used in this system is not waterproof.
